Psalms 62:6: He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not he moved.”
God is my Rock. We all remember the Bible story of the two men who decided to build a house. One built his house on the sand, and when the winds and rain came, it fell. The other erected his home on a rock, and even the most tempestuous storm could not demolish it. This is a ‘Valuable lesson for the followers of Christ to learn. They should fashion their fixes upon the impregnable Rock, Christ Jesus, and no assaults of evil can ever most them.
God is my Salvation. There is no other way’ to Him except through faith in Christ Jesus. We must, of course, demonstrate our faith by works, but only faith will bring us the answers to our prayers, and give us the joy and peace that we long for.
He is my defense, and I shall not be moved. Other defenses, even the strongest, may be destroyed. But if Jesus is our Defense, nothing, let us repeat Nothing can mos e us unless we allow ourselves to be moved. Let us be –steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for such as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1st Corinthians 15:58 )
I will build my house upon the rock,
And not upon the sand,
“When roaring floods sweep on the shore,
It will not fall, but stand.
And when I build my house of faith,
I have my great reward
For building on the mighty Rock,
which is the blessed Lord.
Romans: I 2: I 9: ”Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wroth: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
Here is a promise that we will do well to always remember. God reminds us that vengeance is His with the guarantee that in due time He will repay. Sometimes, as years pass by, we may feel that God has forgotten us, and that His promise to avenge our misfortunes will never be fulfilled. But if we take things into our ow n hands and repay es il with evil, we are no better than the one who has wronged us.
It may be that the worker of iniquity will never be punished in this life, although he usually is. But, since God is lose and God is just, if He seems to tarry in His intercession for His children, we have His word that there will come a time when justice will he meted out, and all our wrongs avenged.
Can we not trust Him in this respect, as in others, and patiently wait for Him?
Heed where the wicked flourished,
His fortunes that were vast
Are in that place no longer,
His glory is all past.
While you, my child, beloved,
So often trodden down,
Shall live with Me forever,
And wear the victor’s crown.
