It seems a pity that both the A.V. andthe R.V. give the word” likewise,” for the use of this word tends to the point of the comment. “In like manner” would perhaps have been better, and would indicate,even if a little obscurely, that unless the Jews of Jerusalem repented, they would die in the fall of their city (in A.D. 70), in like manner as the eighteen died in the fall of the tower in Siloam.
