Greetings from Ukraine

Dear Bro. Don,

Warm greetings in the Truth we share.

First of all, I’d like to cordially thank you for sending me your magazine.

Lately, Bro. Geoff Brazier (a linkman to Ukraine from Kettering, UK) and Sis. Christina Berks, Halifax, UK, have come to Ukraine. I helped them with translations and interpretations.

Last summer, there was held the 2nd Ukrainian Bible School in Poltava, Eastern Ukraine. I enclose a report about this event [which we plan to publish in a later issue] and a postcard of my native town, Bila Tserkva with this letter.

I always find interesting and useful information in the Tidings and share it with all Ukrainian brethren and sisters at the meetings in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. These meetings are held every six weeks when a brother or sister comes from UK to Kiev.

There are now a little bit more than 100 Christadelphians in Ukraine. There are also a few ecclesias in such towns as Kiev, Kharkov, Poltava and Kakhovka. But these are making their first steps. Anyway, we are just learning, but I’m positive the main point is we have a true Truth and we’re strong in our faith despite all hardships and trials which we face on our way to the Kingdom of God. You brethren are an example for us to follow. [As are the brothers and sisters of the Ukraine, and other countries in the area, an example for us to follow in their devotion to the faith in the face of government opposition and threats of persecution. Thanks to generous donations from ecclesias and readers, we are able to send the magazine to many such English-speaking brethren who are not able to afford it.]

I read the Bible daily in four languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English and German using the Bible Companion. It’s interesting for me to explore the differences among various translations of the Holy Scriptures.

I hope to hear from you soon and I’ll be happy to keep you informed about the things that take place here in Ukraine.
