Contending for the Faith Quarterly (CFQ) is a new magazine written primarily by young Christadelphians, for young Christadelphians. Covering a wide range of topics, this magazine is designed to help Christadelphians from late teens to young adults create an active faith and forge an identity in Christ. Young people are facing unique and difficult challenges in a world that is quickly becoming radically different from that of their grandparents or even their parents. This magazine is intended to help young people survive in a “post-Biblical society” with their faith intact. Although the CFQ is intended primarily for young people, much of the material in the magazine is equally valuable for more mature brothers and sisters, and a large segment of CFQ subscribers are, in fact, older Christadelphians.
The CFQ is published four times a year, and the first issue includes such topics as first principles, pastoral subjects, preaching, archaeology, history, science, words from our elders, meditations, a sister’s section and “getting to know you” and event sections. In the coming issues, Lord willing, several more sections will be added, such as Questions and Answers and Wrested Scriptures (including some of the “new wrested scriptures” on such subjects as reincarnation, feminism, abortion and homosexuality).
Young Christadelphians facing the special challenges of high school, college or university will find the CFQ particularly helpful. The Quarterly provides an exciting forum for the youth of Christadelphia, and we pray that it will be of benefit as we encourage each other in these last days. Let’s not be afraid to take up the weapons of our warfare, for “greater is he that is in us, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4).
