Through golden moments,
through each precious hour
Dear Father, give me Thy
grace, strength and power,
My path is only a deep wilderness
Without thy dear love to cheer
and to bless.
Lord, lift my soul from its weight of despair,
That I may know in the night Thou art there,
Dwell in my being, so that I may feel
Joy that will enter to help and to heal.
Teach me to pray, Lord, as I ought to pray,
I’m prone to wander, but help me to stay
Close to Thy side, and for comfort to know
Thy sweet assurance, wherever I go.
Oh, guide my footsteps and show me Thy way,
That I may walk in it just for today,
Nearer to Thee, Lord, I pray lead me on
Until the day of Thy coming shall dawn.
