We’ve come to the end of a perfect week in a setting
serene and sure
We’ve heard with our ears many wondrous things,
lofty, lovely and pure
And w e’ll carry away from Idyllwild in the days that
w ill lie ahead
The communion sweet that has touched our hearts
and left a peace in its stead
Yes, this is the end of a perfect week, and one of our
mortal woes
Is that feasting like this in our mortal life must come
all too soon to close
But the food we have eaten w ill last us long and the
strength for the journey too
And that is the blessing of Idyllwild and its treasure
to me and to you
So beloved we part on our separate ways to the
North, South, West and East
But w e’ll render to God and His Son the praise which
we’ve learned at this Bible feast.
May the God that led Israel through the earth to the
shores of that mighty sea
May he lead us, too, to that haven of rest He has
promised to you and to me.
