As each returning day brings light
However dark and wild the night
God’s word is sure.
And he will stoop to care and bless
As through the dreary wilderness
Our trials we endure.
There is no day without a night
Or victory won without a fight
A crown without a cross.
This is our heavenly Father’s law
That storms will rise along life’s shore
And winds our frail craft toss.
But none should troubled wafers fear
When Christ our Master stands quite near
He knows the compass, too.
He takes the helm and whispers Peace.
The troubles in our heart
should cease Our trust in Him renew.
And now the journey nears its end
For angry nations plan and tend
To rule the world with hate.
But God has better plans decreed
That peoples should be thus deceived
And left so desolate.
Joy cometh with the rising sun
With healing beams for every one
Bespeaks the restful reign.
For Christ will cast all ill aside
As He with joy doth claim the bride
He bought with love and pain.
