I Heard on the radio that a famous ‘great house’ had been burnt to the / ground during the night. Knowing that an isolated sister, paralysed and bedridden, lived in the basement of that house, I feared that she may have been trapped. Then I learned that she had been alone in the house. When she awoke to find fire in and all around her room, she ran outside and escaped with very minor injury. She was soon paralysed again, and lived for years afterwards. Fear lends wings, it is said. Survival instinct overcoming paralysis, or God’s strength and protection?

We had several very happy Bible Schools at the Ocean View Conference Center. Our relationships with the owners of the centre could not have been more cordial. I sent the deposit for our coming School. Then I received a bombshell. “A 100 year old publication, recently reprinted, clearly indicates that your doctrines concerning the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ are unspeakably evil. Also many other of your beliefs are equally evil. Had we known earlier, you would never have been granted use of our centre. Your deposit is returned herewith.” I can tell you that it was a very meaningful moment for me. What did I write in response? How would you have reacted?
