Dear Bro. Don,

The following is in memory of the birthday of Bro. Jonathan Kaufman who died March 6, 2001, aged 17.

I look around, where is grandson, Jon?
One of our three “Js” is gone.
I look again, there’s an empty chair,
Jon’s twinkling eyes and smiles no longer there.

Jon was a fun-loving young man,
So full of life, tall and handsome,
Abundant love for his family,
Mom, Dad, brother Jacob and sister Jacque.

Our hearts are broken, eyes sting with tears.
Birthday memories as Jon’s birthday nears;
So young to go, can’t believe he’s gone;
Our faith is strong, we will carry on.

One day at a time, we’ll bear our sorrow,
With God’s help, we can face tomorrow,
Nothing can take our sweet memories away;
We feel Jon’s presence each and every day.

Some day the clouds will roll away,
Tears will dry, but the pain will stay.
We’ll be waiting for you, Jon, at the end of our lane.
“God be with you ’till we meet again.”
