An update from the Christadelphian Bible Mission of the Americas (CBMA)
Preaching is one of the many aspects of ecclesial life that is rewarding for both the group and the individual. We are encouraged as we read of so many brethren who work tirelessly at preaching the Truth in their “own backyard.”
The following message may be of interest to those who have considered leaving their own area and applying their talents in another part of the vineyard.
The Spanish Truth Corps program is looking for individuals who can commit a minimum of one-and-a-half years to mission work somewhere in Latin America (most likely Guatemala or Costa Rica). Once functional in Spanish, the program involves visiting contacts, conducting Bible classes with interested friends, working on correspondence courses and assisting the ecclesia in all the ways that are done in one’s present ecclesia. To everyone involved, this can be a very rewarding experience.
For those preferring mission work in the United States or Canada, the CBMA sponsors a Domestic Mission Program. This program matches ecclesias which need a missionary with those brothers or sisters who have the ability and desire to do full-time preaching for at least one year. With the recent interest shown in the Bible Reading Seminars, we feel God may have opened a door of witness. There may be many opportunities for visiting contacts or giving personal Bible classes.
For the Domestic Mission Program to work it needs two things:
#1 Interested ecclesias that already have a functioning preaching program in place and are getting to a point where they could use a full-time person to assist in handling personal follow-up.
#2 Interested believers who know their Bible, can work well with other people and are willing to commit at least a year to this program.
In these last days, it is spiritually healthy for any of us to be involved in spreading the good news of the kingdom and of salvation. God has richly blessed us with the Truth and we are probably all sharing it one way or another. This short update from the CBMA is to remind you about two organized preaching programs in which you can participate.
