The bible schools of 1994 will all be history by the time you read this. Added together, there will have been thousands who were blessed in attending one or more schools in the U.S. and Canada this year.

Many come home from the schools feeling, to some small degree, like Peter and John must have felt after they had been with Jesus. Those around them who heard them speak after their close association with the Lord noticed the difference. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus.” Will people who see those who have been to Bible school be able to tell that they have been with Jesus?

When Moses came down from the mount, his face glowed. “The children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone.” Let us pray that this summer, whether we have been blessed to attend a Bible school or not, our activities around the word of God were such that we are now glowing.

Bible school or no, the light of the “Son” of God should never set on us! Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

If we go out in the bright sunlight, people can look at our faces and see that we glow as a result. It is possible to cover our skin with sun block so that the rays of the sun do not penetrate. Protecting our faces from the rays of the sun is a wise thing to do. Spiritually speaking, however, is it wise for us to cover ourselves with “son” block so that the rays of the Son of God do not penetrate our countenance?

Now that Jesus is in heaven, he expects us to allow his light to shine on us so that we can become moons and reflect his light to those around us. He tells us, “Ye are the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

There is aim eclipse of the moon when the earth comes between the sun and the moon. Since we have no light of ourselves, we can only shine by having allowed the Son of God to shine upon us. We need to make sure that we never allow the earth, the things of this life, to come between us and the Son of God so that we have a spiritual eclipse and our light ceases to shine.

Attending a Bible school has given many a renewed determination to let their light shine. Now that the schools are over, it is all too easy to slip back into the old ruts and gradually the glow may fade.

In time, the glow began to fade from Moses’ face. In the natural, the glow of a sunburn will fade. We need to continue to expose our spiritual faces to the light of the Son of God. As fall and the long months of winter approach, we need to make sure that our glow does not go.

Paul tells us that the Lord commanded him, “I have set thee to be a light o the Gentiles, that thou shouldst be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.” This is our role today. Are we shining for the Lord? Can those who see us tell that we have been with Jesus?
