From north to south, from east to west; in far-off lands and
near, The Word of God is daily bread to those who hold it dear.

In cities, where the thoughtless rush and crowd the world’s Broadway,
God’s servants seek sweet solitude and read His word each day.

And in a mother’s cottage home, in town or on a farm,
The daily reading of God’s Word gives home an added charm.

Or on the far-flung billowed seas, in the cabin of his ship,
The traveler’s Bible daily brings new joys of fellowship.

In every land, in every clime; in tongues we do not know,
The Word of God enlightens all as with Shekinah glow.

As each his daily portion from the “Companion” reading true,
God’s Spirit from the written word one spirit must imbue.

One message each and all will read; one faith will be their guide,
One hope the anchor of their souls, one love with them abide.

Nor race, nor color; tribe nor clan can keep God’s sons apart
When tutored by the living word each has a contrite heart.

And thus a chain, whose links are forged in tribulation’s fires,
Will yet bind Satan in that day to which each saint aspires.

So as you read God’s word today, remember others, too,
Are reading that same Word which binds the brotherhood to you.
