While considering the first few chapters of Revelations recently, I was struck by the lack of mention of the ears in the vision of the one like the son of man. Rev. 1:12-20. This is particularly striking in view of the repetition of the phrase to each of the 7 ecclesias “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” This seems to indicate that the vision is of Christ and the Saints in a perfected state, made up of all who have heard and have -come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the lamb.” We are reminded that the time will soon be here when the invitation to hear and enter the body of Christ shall not exist.
In Luke 13:24-25 the same idea is impressed upon us, “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open unto us’; and he shall answer and say unto you, ‘I know you not whence ye are:’. When our Saviour returns and raises up his household (all who have heard his voice and had opened the door to him Res. 3:20) the key of David shall have been used to shut the door to entrance into the son of man.
Isaiah 22:21-23 reads “And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house. In accord with this we find the key of David opening a door that no man can shut. Rev. ch. 4 begins with “a door opened in heaven” — a throne was set in Heaven, and one sat on the throne.”
The one the one like the son of man for Jesus says, ”To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne.” Rev. 3.21 and “to him ( who overcomes) will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron.” Rev. 2:26-27. Paul adds his testimony in 2 Timothy 2:12 -If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.”
Isaiah 22 also refers to Jesus in the rule of a father. Paul speaks of this in Heb. 2:13 “Behold I ( Jesus) and the children which God hath given me. Christ refers to this in Res. 21:6-7 -I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”
In the closing message in Revelations, Jesus, the Spirit and the bride say, “Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I ( Jesus) testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book; and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
We must seek to understand the message of Jesus. We cannot say that it doesn’t mean what it says when we come to a scriptural understanding of the symbols. The door of the ark was swung shut by God on Noah and family’ and then came destruction of the wicked. The time to enter into the complete body of Christ, or to remain in there, or to get back in there, as the case may be, is swiftly’ drawing to a close. The seven fold warning to Hear what the Spirit says was to those in the Ecclesia.
In Proverbs 2:1-5 God speaks, “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you. making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
