Thank you for the wonderful response we have received from you concerning The Tidings. You have overwhelmed us with your subscriptions and donations. Early one morning (it seemed in the middle of the night as it was still dark) the phone rang and the brother on the other end exuberantly exclaimed “this is your Manitoulin buddy, how would you like 25 more subscribers to The Tidings?” What a wonderful way to wake up! This has been just one of many happy surprises as you have sent us letters of encouragement along with your subscriptions and donations. The sentiment expressed over and over again was “don’t let The Tidings die.” Thanks to your wonderful support and with God’s help, we are happy to report that we will be able to continue. You have been so generous. Checks for ten, twenty, fifty, hundred and even more have been pouring in and still continue. We want to say “thank you” an hundred times.

It is our prayer that our little magazine will continue to be worthy of your support and may God give us wisdom that we may publish those things which will give glory and honor to His Name. We join in the sentiments of Solomon’s prayer that we are in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people . . . give therefore thy servants understanding hearts that we may publish those things which will edify this thy so great a people.”
