How is your missionary effort doing? When we say “your” effort, we are speaking of the work of the brothers and sisters all over the world. Would you like to participate in the success of each effort from Panama to Africa to Australia? You can! The way to do this is through the greatest power of all, prayer to God. By constant prayer for the success of the missionary efforts, we can ask for God’s help in reaching those people in the world who are looking for a savior.
During this past summer we were given the opportunity to be one of the six PCCBM Truth Corps members. Our efforts were located in Panama City and Colon in the country of Panama. During our two months of preaching the Gospel, we came to realize the tremendous power of prayer to our Heavenly Father. Not only did we realize the power, hut more fully the need for constant prayer.
During our stay we received many letters telling us that our fellow brothers and sisters, many whom we didn’t know, were also praying for our success. Knowing how much we appreciated these prayers and how they affected us personally, we would like to ask each one of you to help by making a prayer time each day when God’s blessing is sought for all the missionary efforts.
Here are the details of the plan. While we were in Panama we all stopped whatever we were doing and gave a prayer for the mission field at 5:00 p.m. each day. Upon returning to the United States it was thought that we would continue this same practicel We would like to suggest that each brother and sister stop at 5:00 p.m. their own time and pray for the success of those striving to bring the Truth to others. Due to the many time zones around the world, prayers to God will be ascending for the Mission work almost hourly around the clock and we will all be involved in the mission work in a very real way.
